DisplaySearch Announces Details of Upcoming Korea FPD Conference

DisplaySearch, a worldwide leader in Flat Panel Display market research and consulting, announced details of its upcoming 2004 DisplaySearch Korea FPD Conference. Co-hosted by Electronic Times, the event will feature DisplaySearch's latest FPD industry outlook and a keynote presentation by Bruce Berkoff, executive vice president of marketing at LG.Philips LCD.
The event takes place October 12-13 in Seoul, Korea.

Canon, Toshiba team up for flat-screen venture, SED Inc.

Major Japanese electronics manufacturers Canon Inc. and Toshiba Corp have announced an agreement to jointly develop, make and sell next generation flat display panels which are thinner than conventional flatscreens. The two companies are to set up a joint venture to make surface-conduction electron-emitter display (SED) panels in October this year in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa prefecture, southwest of Tokyo, with initial capital of ¥1.0 billion ($US9.1 million).
